Information & Networking

Information and Networking is valuable not only to those with disabilities, but to family, friends and the community at large. Through our staff and community resources, we are able to assist in answering questions directly or to refer you to the appropriate agency or service. There are several organizations which provide services to people with disabilities. For some people, finding the right service can be overwhelming and obtaining accurate information can be confusing or difficult. It is an individual's right to know all of the options available to him or her. Cowichan Independent Living provides the information about programs and services so that an informed decision can be made.

The Information and Networking Program at Cowichan Independent Living is able to provide people with disabilities, service providers, family members and researchers with information and referral for most issues pertaining to disability, including:

  • information regarding Independent Living
  • subsidized housing information
  • transportation options,
  • employment information, job opportunities
  • information regarding government programs and services (federal, provincial, municipal)
